This research is on Oil Platform Structures in Offshore operations of oil and gas projects. Offshore operations are exploration, drilling and production of oil and gas processes in water: oceans, sea and big lakes. History and Techniques of oil platforms (Rigs) generally reviewed after introducing general information about oil and gas industry as an important industry of 20th century. Then, as case study, focusing on Gela1 oil platform of Sicily, Italy, the first platform in first offshore operation in Europe built in 1959 by ENI, its unique characteristiques apart from being a pioneer in Europe, passing through the history of ENI, famous Italian oil and gas company, its offshore activities and construction of platform. The problematic is studying the feasibility of the projects for Reusing and Valorization these structures after their productive life time. The perspective is in Industrial Heritage domain. In this study, two important factors are discussed as the moving elements of that time when Gela1 was built: 1 the 60s decade, a blooming period of Italy. 2 Enrico Mattei as an Italian great history maker and influential person in economy of Italy at that time, founder of ENI in 1953; Gela1 was built in 1959 in his chairmanship period.
