Mitochondrial dysfuntion due to oxidative stress seems to be crucial in cell death and tissue damage caused by ischaemia-reperfusion injury during myocardial infarction. Thus, we focused our attention on describing ROS production and lipid peroxidation following an ischaemia-reperfusion injury and to realize our goal two different mitochondria-targeted probes have been employed: MitoB, directed to identify H2O2 generation, and MitoH, sought to give information about 4-HNE.
