This research has investigated the strength and deformation characteristics of a mechanically biologically treated waste in triaxial compression at effective stress of 25 kPa and 200 kPa. New insights were gained regarding the behaviour of MBT waste and the influence of this treatment on its mechanical characteristics, comparing the results obtained at two different confining pressure. The role of dilation with respect to the strength mobilized during the test was studied.

Abstract

This research has investigated the strength and deformation characteristics of a mechanically biologically treated waste in triaxial compression at effective stress of 25 kPa and 200 kPa. New insights were gained regarding the behaviour of MBT waste and the influence of this treatment on its mechanical characteristics, comparing the results obtained at two different confining pressure. The role of dilation with respect to the strength mobilized during the test was studied.
