Several phenomenological scenarios in string theory involve branes and fluxes, which are necessary in order to reproduce the proper gauge and matter sector and to provide a non-trivial potential for the so called moduli, scalars which are usually abundant in string theory compactifications. These ingredients back-react on spacetime, generating a warping of the geometry describing the flux compactification. Such a warping can be source of important physical effects in the four-dimensional effective field theory of string flux compactifications is still missing. This thesis studies this problem, focusing on a simple class of supersymmetricflux compactifications and investigating the impact of the warping of the Kähler potential of the four dimensional effective theory.

Abstract
