NC is a versatile viral protein involved in several processes of HIV-1 replicative cycle and represents a valuable target to develop a new class of antiretrovirals. This thesis project focuses on the evaluation of the activity of two series of 2,6-dipeptidyl-anthraquinones (DA and #14) as potential NC inhibitors actin through the stabilization of TAR and cTAR viral sequences. FRET-based techniques and PAGE are exploited for the evaluation of compounds.
