Sisto, Angela (2017) Optical tissue clearing for optimised 3D imaging: analysis of microglia-amyloid-betha plaques interaction in Alzheimer's disease. [Laurea specialistica biennale]

In Alzheimer's disease gradual accumulation of amyloid-betha (A-betha) fibrils triggers microglia activation, wich cluster around plaques and form a barrier around them. Two different clearing methods are used to investigated microglia A-betha plaque interaction. We tested the siutability of FluoClearBABB and CUBIC to quantify plaque load and morphology, microglia cell number and morphology.
