In this dissertation we shall analyse two models widely used in Mathematical Neuroscience: FitzHugh-Nagumo and Morris-Lecar. We shall apply Dynamical Systems methods to study them, to describe and explain some phenomena which can also be seen via numerical methods. As the title suggests, the two models have a fast-slow structure, and we shall try to show clearly what conclusions this leads to. Furthermore, both models give rise to interesting bifurcations, and this shall be the other side of our analysis.
