Abstract

Inoltre, utilizzando questi decadimenti è possibile, come vedremo in seguito, scoprire nuovi isotopi. Alpha and Beta Delayed Fission are two common decays of exotic heavy nuclei. The study of these phenomena allows to deduct important informations about the structure of far-from-stability heavy nuclei otherwise hardly reachable by other methods. The analysis of these processes is not only fundamental to optimize nuclear models but also to have a better understanding of features and characteristics of heavy nuclei. Moreover, by using these decays is possible, as we will see, to discover new isotopes. In this report is discussed the theory of these phenomena, experimental approaches and the deducted informations on the nuclear structure of heavy nuclei.
